Additional workshops
CPR theory online and optional CPR practice and assessment
Friday 8 October - 9.00am – 5.00pm
To assist general practitioners and practice staff in meeting their cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) requirements for the triennium, gplearning has developed two online activities which focuses on the theory behind CPR. CPR theory online focuses on the theory behind CPR while Accredited CPR offers both the online theory behind CPR as well as a face-to-face opportunity for CPR practice and assessment. Both activities are based on the Australian Resuscitation Council Guidelines and focus on the basic techniques required for the immediate commencement of CPR, the minimisation of interruptions to compressions and the need for prompt defibrillation. Each activity also describes the legal requirements of providing CPR and the management of an unconscious patient.
Both CPR theory online and the online theory component of Accredited CPR are free for RACGP members and will be available from the end of July 2010 at www.gplearning.com.au and at www.clined.com.au for practice staff and GP non RACGP members.
CPR practice and assessment following completion of the online component of Accredited CPR will be available at GP10 on Friday 8 October 2010 from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. Pre-registration is required for CPR practice and assessment. When you have completed the online component of Accredited CPR , please email gpeducation@racgp.org.au or telephone 1800 284 732 to reserve your place. Please remember to print out and bring a copy of the activity completion certificate to your face-to-face session.
