GP10 Photo Competition

Do you remember when you purchased your first camera? And now you treasure your digital SLR? Are you someone who has their life documented in photo albums or sorted into folders on your hard drive.

GP10 is the chance for you to show us your hidden or not so hidden photographer.

We are excited to announce that at this year’s GP10 Conference, in Cairns from 6-9 October, there will be a photo competition encouraging you to share your photos and images with us.

The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and the Australian Association of Practice Managers invite conference delegates, members and members’ families, medical students, practice staff and practice managers to participate in the GP10 Photo Competition.

The theme of the competition is Our Future.

Entry to this competition is free and entrants are invited to submit an entry on our theme – “Our Future’. The only limit is your imagination.

Entry Requirements

There are a number of requirements which MUST be fulfilled for entry including:

  1. Unsuitable photograph entries will not be included (at the discretion of organisers)
  2. Obscene, sexist or racist images, sexually suggestive or explicit photographs and photographs that depict unsafe activity or violence WILL NOT be accepted. The photo must be suitable for audience of members, colleagues and families.
  3. One entry per person. The entry must be on a separate entry form. Entries without a fully completed entry form will not be eligible for judging.
  4. Competition organisers will take care, but will not accept responsibility for loss or damage to any entry.
  5. Entries should be suitable for public viewing and should not be in breach of copyright laws.
  6. Permission must be obtained from the parent/guardian of individuals recognised in the photo who are under the age of 18 years of age.
  7. Entries may only be accepted from conference delegates, RACGP and AAPM members, delegates children, practice managers and staff.
  8. All entries MUST be submitted by Friday 27 August 2010 by 5pm (AEST). Under no circumstances will entries be accepted after this time.
  9. All competition entrants are responsible for their own registration and travel to the conference.

How to enter

  1. Complete the competition entry form. Please read the terms and conditions. Your signature on the declaration means you have accepted the terms and condition of the competition.
  2. Entries without a fully completed entry form/s will not be accepted.
  3. Print your photograph and bring along to the conference to be displayed

Please note that we want you to present your photo this year.

We have a space allocated which is ARCH C size for each entrant. This allows 18 x 24 inch (45 x 61 cm) or roughly A2 size.

It is up to you to fill this space as you wish – single photo, collections of images, fill the space, part fill. We will be able to assist with mounting using double sided clips, tape or pins. However, we know photographers can be selective about how their photos are handled and we want to acknowledge that. Competition Format

Entrants must process and bring their photographs along to the conference to be displayed.

All entries must have a completed submission form emailed to photo.competition@racgp.org.au or faxed to the National Rural Faculty on +61 3 8699 0598

The photographs will be displayed in the venue for the duration of the conference. The winners of the competition will be announced on Thursday 7 October 2010 at the Official Conference Welcome Reception.

You will have a big space - 18 by 24 inches (about 46cm by 61cm): one photo large or small; a series of photos. It is your choice.

Your presentation space will be available from the start of the conference in which to place your entry...
